VERNALIS, Calif. — An 11-month-old girl died Sunday from injuries she suffered Saturday afternoon in a five-car crash near Vernalis, the California Highway Patrol said. A 26-year-old Ceres man was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A multi-car collision Saturday on SR-132 left one person dead and four others injured, including a child, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at 12:57 p.m. Emergency personnel responded to the scene near Vernalis and found five vehicles involved in the collision, the CHP release said.

An 11-month old baby who was badly injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 132 on Saturday afternoon died the following day, according to Officer Thomas Olsen of the California Highway Patrol.
