Alexander Zverev has revealed that he was diagnosed with pneumonia which caused him to pull out of the China Open, just days after helping Team Europe win the Laver Cup in Berlin.

He suffered two consecutive defeats against American player Taylor Fritz, at the US Open quarter-final and his opening singles match at the Laver Cup. Despite these setbacks, Zverev managed to secure a victory for Team Europe at the Laver Cup by defeating Frances Tiafoe.

Tennis might have an issue the sport won't fix and that is frustrating players such as Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.
