The mother of Georgia school shooting suspect Colt Gray apologized to the victims’ families in an open letter — all while insisting her son “is not a monster.”

Body camera footage released Monday showed the interview between Georgia police and suspected school shooter Colt Gray and his father, Colin, as part of a 2023 investigation.

During the entire conversation, Gray is soft-spoken and swaying left and right while denying making any threats.

WINDER, Ga. — Officials now know how accused Apalachee High School gunman Colt Gray got the AR-style gun into the school a week ago. Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said the large rifle was not broken down but was carried into the school in Gray’s backpack. It was, however, obscured so it wasn’t noticeable.

About half an hour before Colt Gray allegedly opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, last week, his mother supposedly alerted a school counselor about an “extreme emergency” involving her son.

The mother of a Georgia teenager charged with fatally shooting four people at his high school has been indicted in connection with an alleged domestic incident last year.

Gray previously said she called her son's high school the morning of the shootings to warn staff of an “extreme emergency” involving her son.
