Russian cosmonauts return to Earth after record ISS stay
ALMATY, Kazakhstan - Two Russian cosmonauts landed back on Earth on Sept 23 after a record-breaking stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Mr Oleg Kononenko and Mr Nikolai Chub spent 374 days in low-Earth orbit at the ISS, the longest time anybody has ever stayed on the station in a continuous stint.

Kononenko also now holds the record for the longest cumulative time in space at 1,111 days in orbit. Nasa astronaut Tracy Dyson was also aboard the Soyuz space capsule headed for Kazakhstan after spending six months on the station.
