The Israeli military warned it would expand strikes across Lebanon early on Monday, as the long-simmering conflict with Hezbollah threatened to explode into larger war.

More than 270 people have been killed and 1,000 injured in intense Israeli air strikes across Lebanon, the country’s health minister says, after Israel warned it was “deepening” its attacks on the armed group Hezbollah.

The IDF also refused to rule out a possible ground invasion of Lebanon, as it launched a series of extensive air strikes in the country’s southern region.
