A Southwest Airlines flight at Denver International Airport was evacuated safely Friday morning after a cellphone battery ignited. It happened on board Flight 3316 before 7 a.m. as the plane was getting ready to depart for the William P.

DALLAS — A Southwest airplane was reportedly struck by gunfire at Dallas Love Field Friday night, according to the airline. A Southwest spokesperson said the plane was hit while preparing for departure to Indianapolis and no injuries were reported.

One person suffered a minor injury during the evacuation, while another, whose phone was the source of the fire, was treated for burns, airline officials said.

Southwest Airlines Flight 3316 was at a gate at the Denver International Airport when a spokesperson for the airline said a cell phone battery caught on fire. The flight was scheduled to take of at 6:05 a.m. and was headed to Houston's Hobby airport.
