The Rays found a place to play for the 2025 season without having to go too far — Tampa’s George M. Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home of the rival New York Yankees. The Rays had been looking for an interim home since Hurricane Milton caused extensive damage to Tropicana Field last month.

The team needed to find an alternate home ballpark after Tropicana Field sustained major damage from Hurricane Milton.

Rays owner Stuart Sternberg said that playing at Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home for the Yankees in Tampa, is the “best fit for the team and its fanbase” next season, according to Curt Anderson of the AP.
