Just two days after their top-of-the-league clash with Arsenal, Manchester City go again on Tuesday, this time in the Carabao Cup, as they host Championship side Watford.  While Pep Guardiola's side have rightfully earned their reputation as an almost unstoppable force in English football,

Man City today begin their quest to recapture the Carabao Cup when they host Championship outfit Watford at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola has made a habit of winning this competition during his time in English football but has not lifted this particular piece of silverware since 2021.

The domestic cup season gets underway with a home tie with Championship side Watford. The Hornets are coming of an away drubbing against mid-table Norwich City and get a trip to the Etihad for their trouble. I expect City to stroll through to the next round here. I’ll go with a start for James McAtee and at least one goal involvement.
