Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has been speaking about the 35-year-old's axing from the team, telling Motorsport-Total that the Milton Keynes-based outfit are 'interested' in continuing their association with the Australian, in an ambassador role.

Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most well-known names around the Formula One circle. He goes by several nicknames too such as Honey Badger. Daniel Ricciardo gained fame back when he was in Red Bull as a ruthless and excellent driver who would use his trademark late-breaking to get ahead of the other drivers.

Ricciardo was always intended to be Red Bull's safety net. But fluctuating form and a series of decisions leaves the veteran out of F1.
