LOWVILLE, N.Y. -- A raccoon from the Town of Lowville has tested positive for rabies. Lewis County Public Health has been notified by the New York State Department of Health about a raccoon in Lowville that has received a positive test result.

A raccoon found in Grovetown has tested positive for rabies, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Health officials are encouraging New Bedford residents to make sure their pets' rabies vaccinations are up to date after a raccoon found in Buttonwood Park tested positive for the deadly viral disease.
